The Unexpected

This little bunny was not too happy about going to the vet on Saturday morning.  I'm sure she found the visit disruptive and invasive.
She spent the weekend sitting pretty still (for her) a sign that she isn't feeling quite her usual inquisitive self.

Later, I dropped off a pair of fourteen year old boys way across town at some video game/race car place for a birthday celebration.  One of the several things I did while waiting around, was to buy too many books at $1 apiece at the Goodwill.  (This was the pile I  finally whittled down.)

Then, on Sunday, my husband and I went to one of our favorite places for a bite to eat and a cocktail.
This was on display out front which I found very odd and a little creepy right away.
I went on to order what I thought would be a toasted cheese sandwich with arugula, pickled onions, and dijon mustard.  When it arrived, it was just that--but it wasn't.
I mean, it wasn't cheese.  Not the milk kind.
It was head cheese.  That horrible loaf they make from boiling a pig's head and combining all the bits that rise into an edible.
Or it's supposed to be an edible.
It wasn't for me, and I was sorry I ordered it.

Ah well.  It wasn't all a loss.

  1. Poor bunny - I hope she's feeling better now. What lovely fur she has.

That is a VERY creepy "decoration" ( really, a skull with flowers coming out?) and head cheese is too horrible to contemplate. Even the name is all wrong. :)

Thank goodness they didn't mess up the beer.

    Enjoy your books!

  2. Had no idea you had a bunny.. oh that sweet face .
    Hope he is ok.

That decor is very Georgia O'keefe. I kinda like it

That is a great collection of books for a $1 I often thought it would be cool to do book sharing among us bloggers.
