I did some paint changing over the last few weeks. I know the yellow was really dynamic and dramatic, but in the end, it was just too much and I had to go back to something neutral. I gave the bright yellow a good eight year chance. Eight!
In the end, I felt it was not relaxing at all, and the light in the room, especially on gray days or at night, was always too weird. (I have to say, that in the pictures, I prefer the yellow :-( But I know that in life it seemed to cause me anxiety.)

Also, around the Buffer Zone there have been some major changes--bigger than my domestic paint dilemma. Here's the mysterious house from
this post:

Well, so this isn't really an
after--more like an
in progress.
I heard rumors that the man of this house was selling drugs (?) and "dropped dead downtown." Honestly, though, those are just rumors. The man who lived here may not have been the man I remembered from the previous post. Whoever he was though, left the house suddenly.
Now, for the last. This
house that used to have the rooster:

It really is a before and after.
That first house is more like an after followed by a before! A large house down the road has just disappeared seemingly overnight - it was due to be demolished and had a building fence around it but it's still so strange to see sky where there was once a building. Love your new yellow x Jane
ReplyDeleteI think you are right, I much prefer the paler shade, I love yellow and always try and sneak it in somewhere in the house.

I love before and afters! Yes, the neutral is better than the yellow, and I do love yellow, but eight years is a long time to live with the same paint colour. That last house - wow, what a pretty little house! Love the window boxes. x
ReplyDeleteI really like that gray and white house... Our barn is in desperate need of painting and we want to paint the house to match. I was thinking red and white (standard, old-fashioned barn colors) but now I'm thinking the gray and white would look really nice, too...
